Health Benefits Desk is an editorial site about small-employer group health benefits. We write for office managers, HR generalists, and employees who have to read a Summary of Benefits and Coverage, a renewal packet, or a payroll deduction line and still do not know what to confirm in writing.
What this site is for
The useful unit on this site is not a slogan. It is a checklist, a side-by-side table, a paperwork timeline, or a question list you can take to a licensed broker or carrier. Topics stay inside one theme: how small groups and their people read medical coverage, related accounts (HSA, HRA, FSA, ICHRA, QSEHRA), enrollment windows, COBRA as a bridge, and the notices that show up at hire, leave, or year-end.
Who publishes it
The byline is Health Benefits Desk Editors. That is the display name for this publishing project, not a licensed insurance agency, law firm, CPA firm, or medical practice. We do not sell policies, process enrollments, or take commissions through this website. We do not claim board certification, carrier appointments, or “Google Partner” status.
How articles are produced
Pages are written from publicly described plan mechanics and standard documents (SBC, schedule of benefits, wrap/SPD labels, Form 1094/1095 calendars, marketplace vs COBRA decision points). When a number appears so a worksheet can be added up, it is labeled as an illustrative example unless we point you to a primary source you can open yourself. We do not invent SEMrush studies, named-employer case studies, or guaranteed savings.
What we will not do
We will not tell you which carrier to buy, whether a claim should be paid, or how to file your taxes. State mandates, IRS rules, and plan language change. Confirm the current rule in your plan documents, with your carrier, your state exchange, or a licensed professional before you enroll, drop coverage, or make a tax decision.
